Saturday 1st September, THE RALLY

Saturday 1st September, the rally

Thank you to everyone that helped organise, attended and promoted today’s event, today we stood up and showed just what we are capable of, with 85 boats leaving Launching way, 75 from Altona, and at least that many again joining both conveys along the way, when the two groups joined at the West Gate bridge the convey stretched to over 6 km, although the numbers are yet to be confirmed there would have been 300 boats back at Altona, think about that! this is not some pissy I will meet you at the beach for a rally then we will go for a coffee afterwards rally, this involves guys hooking up there boats and dragging them from one side of Melbourne to the other for a 200 km round trip, taking up most of the day, on the first nice boating weekend for a long time and the opening of the trout season, the cost of a tank of fuel and etag, not to mention the preparation in making signs beforehand.

What a great effort.

A few decided to make a stopover in the morning on the way to the meeting point.

Sometimes a picture says a thousand words.
