ReplyDeleteA great turn-out will really help STATE politicians to see how important this issue is to so many recreational fishers (and hopefully non-fishers that just don't see this as a healthy way to treat our fisheries and also join in).
ReplyDeleteIn the end it is the FEDERAL politicians that need to stop this - but our pressure on the STATE politicians does filter through to Canberra (eventually). To speed this up, can you also spend just 5 minutes to write to Joe Ludwig (Federal Minister for Fishing) and Tony Burke (Federal Minister for Environment) and ask them to stop it. Their contact details, along with a posting titled "21 reasons why we should all be protesting" can be found on the site https://www.facebook.com/StopTheSuperTrawlers#!/StopTheSuperTrawlers
